Greatest anime ever… Ok I know maybe not but my personal favorite. If you have not seen it, it’s a futuristic adventure series with great music, cleaver dialog and razor sharp wit. The story centers on bounty hunters traveling though space.

What I love about it is the really strong over story coupled with well written subplots and detours. Most of the episodes will stand alone but the main story is complex and deep.

My favorite character is Spike followed closely by Julia, even though she only appears like three times, her presence in so prevalent in Spike’s life that it has completely altered his character. Vicious is the same way we only see him a handful of times but he has great significance on where the story ends up. I also really love Jet, stoic and volatile, his character is quite complex.

It took me a long time to come around to not hating Faye, in fact not until the end when I understood her more but she is a great character.

I never really cared for Ed, don’t know why, but I loved Ein, soo cute.

So what do you guys think? What characters do you like or not like, favorite episodes?

The headquarters of the Ministry of Magic is located in the heart of London. The actual structure is all underground, although magical windows show whatever weather Magical Maintenance has chosen for the day, from bright sunshine to hurricanes.

A visitor to the Ministry of Magic needs to find a broken red telephone box located on a dingy street which has several shabby offices, a pub, and a wall covered with graffitti.

When the telephone in the box is dialed (62442, the word M-A-G-I-C), the welcome witch's voice answers, not from the phone but from the air as if the person is standing right there. Visitors must state their business, upon which a silver badge pops out with the visitor's name and purpose of visit. Then the telephone box drops down like a lift for about one minute, after which the visitor is in the Atrium.

Workers usually arrive via the many fireplaces that line both long walls and as you enter you see many dusting themselves off. The left hand fireplaces are use for arrivals and the right hand side for departures.

As you step of the lift and onto the highly polished wooden floors a cool voice wishes you a pleasant day. Above on the peacock blue ceiling, gleaming golden symbols move and change.

Halfway down this huge hall is a fountain which upon approach you see a sign that reads

Quote:

*ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE FOUNTAIN OF MAGICAL BRETHREN WILL BE GIVEN TO
ST MUNGO'S HOSPITAL FOR MAGIACAL MALADIES AND INHURIES*

and you see many coins have been tossed in. The fountain itself comprises of golden statues, bigger than life size. The tallest is of a noble looking wizard with his wand straight up in the air. Grouped around him are statues of a beautiful witch, a goblin, a house elf and a centaur.. The last three are looking up the witch and wizard adoringly.

At the end of the Atrium stands a set of golden gates, manned by Eric Munch in a security stand who registers the wands of visitors. If Eric is satisfied he will give you a visitors slip and let you through the gates. Of course witches and wizards who work there simple flash a card to get through.

Once of the other side join the queue to enter a lift that will take you to any of the other levels except level ten which you must get off at level 9 to access. A string of flying notes follow you . .

*****************

Level 1 ~ Minister for Magic and Support Staff
As the golden grills clang shut behind you, you see before you a corridor that stretches both ways. You pass by gleaming door after gleaming door, each bearing a small plaque of the owners name and occupation.

As you turn the corner, half way down the next corridor, you emerge into a wide open space. A dozen witches and wizards sit in rows at small desks, not unlike school desks, but more highly polished and free from graffiti. The workers here are busy at work, wands waving as squares of paper fly around, folding themselves then stacking themselves in neat little piles.

Ahead is a shining mahogany door where once embedded in the door had sat a large round eye with a blue iris. It has long gone and there is but a hole there now. Under this hole sits a plaque that informs you this is the office of the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister. It is currently vacant.

As you walk into the office you see it is still decorated from the last occupent, one Dolores Umbridge. Full of lace, draperies and doilies, it is quite sickening sight. Ornamental plates featuring kittens frolick on the wall and the desk is covered in a flouncy flowered cloth. A empty filing cabinet sits behind the desk waiting for the new occupant to move in.

Level 2 ~ Department of Magical Law Enforcement
As you step off the elevator onto the level for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, the first thing you notice is the big sign telling the order of Offices to the left and the doorway to the right, where you can just see a secretary hard at work. She smiles at you as you glance in the room before turning to the sign, which she kindly points at, though you suspect that the gesture is very practiced.

You turn to the sign, which is black with white letters, has the Offices listed in order of closeness to the elevator lift. The first office listed is Head of Department of Magical Law Enforcement, which you surmise is the office to your back. Next down the list, is the Improper Use of Magic Office, which deals in underage magic and doing magic in front of Muggles and the Register can be found here, which is a registry of the Animagi. Following this, is the Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects which was added fairly recently under Minister Scrimgeour and the influx of false protective devices after the news of Voldemort's return spread.

You glance to the side as someone steps off the lift behind you and heads down the hall. Next is the Office of the Wizengamot and Wizengamot Administration Services Council of Magical Law. After that is the Office of Magical Equipment Control which takes care of items that don't fall under the protective objects office. You then see in broad letters Auror Headquarters, which holds all the Aurors and their office spaces. Finally, in a room at the back is the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, in minuscule script, as if put there as an afterthought.

Level 3 ~ Department of Magical Accidents and Catasrophes
Walking off the lift at level 3 brings you directly to a young lass who sits at a very tidy desk. She looks up and points to door that sits to her left. She smiles and goes back to her work.

You open the door to find yourself in a huge hallway that seems to go on forever. You start to walk coming to the first set of offices that branch of on both sides you see a sign that simply says Obiviator Headquarters

Smiling to a few you wander along further coming to the next set of offices that also has a sign which reads Accidental Magic Reversal Squad

You notice the walls are bare of anything as you continue down the corridor coming to a door that reads Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee but as you look closer you see another sign.

Finally reaching the end of the corridor you realise these offices are the largest on this floor. Not only do they span either side but they seem to take up 1/2 a mile beyond where the corridor ends. A sign tells you this is the Offices of the Invisabilty Task Force

Level 4 ~ Department for the Reguation and Control of Magical Creatures
A few paper planes fly in as you step out and there is distinct odd smell around. The receptionest looks up with a bright smile and inquires which division you are looking for as there are three on this floor all dealing with different creatures.

In the first we have the Beast Division that deal with Dragons and Werewolves

Next we have the Being Division that deals with Goblins and House-Elves

and Last we have the Spirit Division that deal with Ghosts.

Just be warned that a few creatures roam this area and some can get quite nasty when provoked.

Level 5 ~ Department of International Magical Cooperation
The Fifth Level of the Ministry of Magic shelterf the International Magical Cooperation offices. As you step out you notice is a really small hall, very well lit by torches and a window on the ceiling, a clear mistake on the design would not allow placing it on the wall. Three doors of different sized are located on the three walls you see. The one on the left, the biggest, leads to the International Confederation of Wizards. A plaque on one side of the door reads:

Quote:

 International Confederation of Wizards
Since 1600
In honour of Pierre Bonaccord
First Supreme Mugwump

The door right in front of you is smaller, but still big enough for three people to walk through it at the same time. This leads to the International Magical Office of Law, the place to go if you have doubts about ane specific law. Lastly, the door on the right, the smaller one, takes you to the International Magical Trading Standards Body, very busy people, enter at your own risk.

Level 6 ~ Department of Magical Transportaion
As you step off the lift on Level 6 several paper aeroplanes swoop overhead fluttering around your ears then zooming into the lift to go levels unknown. A huge sign in front of a tiny desk tells you this is the Department of Magical Transport. There is no-one at the very cluttered desk that suggest that normally a secretary would sit here ~ simply a board with names with arrows beside them that point down a long corridor that branches into other corridors.

Since all the arrows point the same way you turn down the corridor and a few steps down to your left you find the first office. A sign tells you this is the Floo Network Authority. The door is open and you see wizards and witches busy working at what looks like to be some sort of switchboard.

A man comes out and looks at you before walking on and a few more paper areoplanes zoom overhead, heading for the elevator. A young girl rushes past and stops to ask if you need help. You assure you are are OK and watch as she makes her way back to the desk, taking the sign down. You turn and continue on.

Further down, but this time to the right, is another door that says Portkey Authority. A quick look shows you a room with piles of paper and a little man working furiously

As you reach the end, the corridor branches of at right angles in two directions. A sign on the wall tells you that if you turn left it take you to the Broom Regulatory Control room, where you see a brooms of all sorts lined up against the wall, while the other shows you the way to the Apparition Test Center, where you hear a muffled scream as someone just splinched themselves.

Level 7 ~ Department of Magical Games and Sport
As you step off the lift on level 7 you walk straight into an untidy looking corridor that is littered with brooms. The walls are decorated with posters of various Quidditch teams, many of them signed and most hanging rather lopsided.

A plaque hidden between the posters reveal this department was founded in 1750 and upon further investigation you find a list of the offices (with directions) that this floor contains.

~ British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters : straight ahead

~ Official Gobstones Club : first right, first left then fourth right

~ Ludicrous Patents Office : first left, first right, first right again then second left

~ Triwizard Tournament Headquarters : first right, third left
Many other offices are empty and only get set up for when they are needed , like a few years ago when a few offices were set up to organise the Quidditch World Cup . At thiese times a lot on man power is needed and it not unusual to pull in a lot of Temps from other departments. THis department is also responsible for keeping Quidditch hidden from Muggle eyes.

A Niche sits in the wall just as you get off the elevator where sits a vase of flowers with small plague underneath that reads:

Quote:

 IN MEMORY OF BERTHA JENKINS

Level 9 ~ The Department of Mysteries
On the lowest level of the Ministry of Magic lays the Department of Mysteries. Situated on the 9th level it is the deepest the lifts go. The Wiches and Wizards that work down here are referred to "The Unspeakables" In these rooms they research the deepest mysteries that exisit. They have discovered that magic is imbibed in the very fabric of exisitence which manifests in ways that are to hard to explain and even harder to control. The Unsoeakables explore and experiment with these forces in a number of chambers found down here.

Upon reaching level 9 from the Atrium, you step into a bare corridor that leads to plain black door. As you walk the corridor you pass another door that leads down to the courtrooms. But it is the black you need and as you push it open you find yourself in a circular room with 12 12 plain black handleless doors.

The room is lit with candles that burn blue and the floor is highly polished it feels like you are standing on still water. Once the door is closed the room will start to spin very fast, making it impossible to even determine which door it was that you came through.

Level 10 ~ Courtrooms
This level is not accesible by lift. To get to it you must get off at Level 9 and take the side door before you get to the black door that leads to the Department of Mysteries. The door leads into a case of stairs that take you down to dark stonewalled passge, lit with torches.

Doors lead off on both sides to the smaller courtrooms. Being small they often feel clasustrophobic with the high ceilings. The accuse sit in a single chair in the middle of the room on a raised paltform while the judges sit behind a balistrade. Dependant on the crime depends if you will be chained while sitting here.

The largest courtroom (courtroom 10) is found at the end of the corridor and is accesible by heavy wooden doors with keyholes and iron bolts. It is here the hardened criminals are brought to be judged under the Wizenmagot. Dressed in robes of plum coloured with a silver "w" embroidered on the left hand side, they sit on raised benches that tower to the ceiling, high above the accused, who sits chained in a chair in the middle .

Guilty or Innocent relies on a show of hands and majority decides the fate of the accused. If found guilty they are sent to Azkaban.

Encompassing three floors of the large portioned off house, the flat at Altenburg Gardens suited Nikolai perfectly. The first floor served little purpose, mainly an entry way to the rest of the space. There was a large foyer that leads to an office and two plainly decorated guest rooms.

The second floor is the main living area, it includes the kitchen off of which a large open patio stretches the full length of the flat, if any of the neighbors find the owls that are kept there unusual they are far to polite to say so. The main sitting room is fairly stark, one wall with a fireplace that is connected to the floo. The dinning room is directly off of the kitchen. There are also a second smaller lounge/office, and a restroom.

Also on the second floor, though a hidden door lays the most colorful room of the flat, rather inspired by the former residents colorful walls, Nikolai has chosen to keep the green walls and furnished what became his library to match. The room is the least stark in the entire flat and has a well lived in feel. The floo is not connected to this room but only in the living room fire.

The third floor is the smallest and has only four rooms, the master bedroom, the master bath, Nikolai’s private library and secure gallery of some of his more collectable items.

The entire flat is well warded but the top floor more so than the others as privacy is a must especially in this area.

Situated within easy reach of the shops, bars and restaurants on Battersea Rise, Northcote Road and Lavender Hill as well as the opens spaces of the common the flat is very well located within one of the nicer muggle areas while allowing easy access to wizarding locations as well.

The Astronomy Tower is the tallest of all the towers at Hogwarts. Looking out over the observation decks you find yourself almost directly over the front entrance and can see clearly out over the Front Entrance, The courtyards and the lawns. If you look hard enough you can make out Hagrid’s small wooden house on the edge of the forbidden forest.

Students make their way up for Astronomy Classes by heading around the corner from the staircase in the Entrance Hall then through two more corridors, bringing them to the base of the stairs. Once you start up the steep spiral stairs you realise just how mammoth this tower is. As you climb, you can can see out the small windows dotted all the way up.

Upon reaching the top of the stairs, you open a door with an iron ring as a handle and you walk into vast room where theory classes are generally held. Outside on the observation decks are where the practical lessons are taken. On a clear night one can see almost all the way to the North Pole.

A small plaque on the wall commemorates Albus Dumbledore.

These days the Astronomy Tower is home to a ghost by the name of Mia Johnson who lost her life a few years back when she saved Dracorius Knight from a spell that Oliver Demble had sent. She lives her lonely days up here, occasionally floating down to other parts of the castle but she is drawn back here time after time as if an invisibly string was pulling her back.

These days she is often found in the Astronomy Office where Murray Guthrie often sits with her. He finds her company very illuminating and has come to trust the ghost with almost anything. He puts a lot of faith in her words and if asked would class her as one of his closest friends.

Students often wander up for some quiet time. But be warned that Flich is always on the lookout for young lovers sneaking up.

At the other end of the Hogwarts line, lays Hogsmeade Station. Situated in the only entirely wizarding villiage in Britain, this is where the students disembark on their journey back to Hogswart Castle. The train pulls in here at least four times a year, then turns around and makes it way back to London.

Hogwarts Castle is located nearby and a road runs around the school grounds that lets students take the carriages at the start of term or walk at other times when on Hogsmeade visits.

It is am impressive old building , built back when Hogwarts was first built, and has been serving the castle and the town of Hogsmeade for all this time. The only train to ever pull in is the Hogwrarts Express . .

Platform 9 3/4 is the place where Hogwarts Express leaves King's Cross Sation heading for Hogsmeade Station. To access it one need only lean or run through the wall that seperates platforms 9 and 10. One must be casual when doing so , as to not attract the attention of Muggle passing by.

Hogwarts Express is an ordinary passenger train which runs at least 4 times a year. Once at the beginning of the school term again to transport students home and back at Christmas and Easter and again to take the students home at the end of term in June. The train leaves Kings Cross promptly at midday on each run arriving at Hogsmeade early evening.

The train itself is pulled by a scarlet steam locomotive. How many carriages it pulls is unknown but there is always enough to accomadate all students. The only adult on this train is usually only the lady who pushes the tea trolley. (although a few profesors have been known to ride it)and the Driver. The tea trolley offers all kinds of goodies, from Pumpkin Pastries to Chocolate frogs and Berties every flavoured beans.

The front carriage is set aside for the prefects, but we often find them roaming the corridors keeping an eye on things.

So hurry up , don't be late, the train is leaving soon

Tapping the brick three up and two across on the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron pub, opens an archway to Diagon Alley, a place for wizards and witches to do their shopping in the heart of Muggle London.Hidden from Muggles the street is cobblestone and lined with shops that resemble something from a long gone era. It is a wizarding shopping mecca and witches and wizards are known to travel from all over Britain to spend time shopping there.

As you enter the street you first shop you pass is the Athothecary of which the aroma extends into the street and is not the least bit appealing.

The street is nearly always crowed with people, witches and wizards being themselves not constrained by the presence of muggles as they are in the rest of London. Owls fly overhead coming and going from the post office and various pet shops. Any number of vendors can be heard calling into the street at all hours.

About half way down the street is Gringotts an impressive building of white marble that stretches toward the skies. A single goblin stands guard in his red uniform outside the doors at the top of the marble staircase. Across the street is the turnoff for Knockturn Alley, it is a dark and dingy place, most unwelcoming. If you look long enough down this street you may see vendors with shrunken heads or giant spiders roaming this is a place of dark magic and that is evident with even the most cursory look.

Diagon Alley is lined with cafes, restaurants and street vendors offering nearly anything a wizard could want. Though one must be weary of the street peddlers, as their quality is not always up to the standards of the enclosed shops. Several clothing shops line the street, Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, second hand robe shop, and the upscale Twillfit & Tatting's. You can find the offices of the Daily Prophet along the alley as well as a number of small publishing houses.
The Apothecary is a fascinating shop crammed with all sorts of potion needs. The whole place smells very bad, a mixture of bad eggs and rotten cabbage . These days many go to the new Apothecary in Hogsmeade for I hear they offer much more and it does not smell half as bad.
The place is small, narrow and shabby, always dark and full of dust. From the outside, besides the sign announcing the name of the store, the window displays a faded purple cushion upon which sits a single wand.
